Dallas
Bethlehem Center (DBC) was founded in 1946 to provide kindergarten programs
to financially disadvantaged children. Sixty years later, DBC continues
to assist more than 500 children in South Dallas each year who are at
risk of being left behind academically, emotionally and socially. Since
its humble beginnings, DBC has grown to employ an 11-person staff and
an annual operating budget over $400,000. Our specially designed
programs touch children through special pre-K, after-school and day care
programs. In 2003, DBC began providing additional services to the South
Dallas community, including the Emergency Food Voucher Program; free
Thanksgiving Dinner; a Health Fair; a Christmas Outreach Program for
children; and a children’s literary festival.
Supporters of DBC have grown to include Crystal Charity Ball, Dallas Mavericks Foundation, Neiman-Marcus,
Kimberly-Clark, Haynes & Boone, Dallas Morning News Charities, ExxonMobil,
Minyards, Starbucks, the Meadows Foundation and many others. Our executive director and dedicated staff members
are committed to guiding DBC toward its vision to enhance the lives
of the disadvantaged in Dallas. |
