Happy 70th Birthday to the Dallas Bethlehem Center

We had a meaningful and fun March filled with an Easter celebration, a visit from Manara Academy, and Lenten donations to our food security program. As in the beginning 70 years ago March 1st and even to this day, DBC could not do this great work without your prayers, service, and gifts!

Check out the Flipagram: https://flipagram.com/f/nBJ1PdoGyV from our Easter Eggstravanganza on March 19, 2016. We had 150 children and families celebrate with us; and thanks to our partnerships with Core Mentoring and UMW, we provided hot dogs, snow cones, a bounce house, and Easter egg hunt for the community.

Manara Academy Gives Back

Manara Academy Gives Back

On March 23, 2016, Manara Academy visited with 50 of their second grade students as part of their social studies unit focusing on service to the local community. Each grade level at Manara Academy chooses a local nonprofit in which to give their service day. The students at Manara Academy picked ChildCareGroup, Inc. at Dallas Bethlehem Center as their recipient.

The students helped read to our preschool children, teach shapes and colors, and make craft gift bags for the parents to use for lessons with the children at home.

FUMC Rockwall Sacrifices for Lent

FUMC Rockwell Sacrifices for LentFUMC Rockwall held a food drive during Lent which provided food for DBC clients. Pictured above are (left to right) DBC staff members Brandon Stovall, Wanda Ward, and Fran Lobpries; (second row) Rich Thompson of FUMC Rockwall and DBC’s Dennis Sims.

We are blessed by everyone from First UMC Rockwall and Rich Thompson for coordinating a Lenten food drive for our food security program. Thanks to their generosity, we received more than 120 bags of food to share in our local community.
