When Santa comes calling, what does it really mean?

Dallas Bethlehem Center Events, News

The Dallas Bethlehem Center had its largest Christmas program in its 71 years. Through the generosity of DBC Angels (donors), we were able to provide gifts for 315 children in South Dallas/Fair Park. Weeks of preparation that included identifying families, planning and rehearsing the nativity program, and shopping for gifts all came together for a glorious Christmas celebration at DBC on December 11, 2017. Donations for the event were estimated to be more than $25,000.

Volunteers and gifts came together from across Dallas for the event. Angels providing the gifts included United Methodist Women (led by Lover’s Lane UMC) and others from across the North Texas Conference, and churches (led by University Park UMC’s Weekday School and members). The United Methodist Women of First UMC Dallas prepared breakfast at the event for all the participants. Corporate angels were led by Gables Residential Communities and Gold Metal Recyclers.

It was an exciting morning with games, arts and crafts, and even a hip-hop version of the Nutcracker presented by The Officials of Next Step Dance, Frisco. All that fun served as a perfect distraction as parents collected the bountiful bags of gifts. It was truly a Christmas miracle!

Please share in the joy and excitement through our video and pictures.
